Kids' Lit Quiz

We took a team of four boys and four supporters to the Kids' Lit Quiz regional heat in Corringham for the first time on Tuesday. Our team did very well, coming second to the reigning World Champions, Bancrofts School. We wish them every success in the next round, which takes place in Oxford on November 27th.
Many thanks to the organisers for a very enjoyable afternoon.

Launch of the Essex Book Award

Yesterday I attended the launch of the Essex Book Award 2009 at the School Library Service HQ.

The shortlist for the Essex Book Award 2009, hereinafter known as EBA2009, has recently been announced. I either have or  will shortly have copies of all the books on the list. Junior Reading Group next meeting

As Wednesday 4th November is a non-pupil day and I won't be here on the 11th our first meeting after half-term will be on the 18th.
